A quarter century ago I decided to devote my life to fighting crime in Los Angeles County as a Deputy District Attorney. As a native of Los Angeles I had the passion to make our community safer and the insight to know how to successfully prosecute the criminal element.
To date I have prosecuted thousands of cases including nearly 200 jury trials and 42 of the most violent murders in courts across LA County. I have been named Prosecutor of the Year twice and recognized as one of the Top 100 lawyers in California.
My fight for justice remains a fight for victims from all corners of our community: our children, our teachers, law enforcement officers who have been murdered in the line of duty, the elderly, the law abiding citizen, the business owner, victims of hate crime and innocent victims of gang crime.
My dedication to public service has extended beyond the courtroom. I championed diversity in the legal community by becoming the first female African American president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. I have remained involved in activities that influence the lives of all members of our community and have been recognized by the Senate and Board of Supervisors for my service to Angelenos.
As the most senior and most experienced candidate for Los Angeles District Attorney, I'm the best qualified to put the focus on reforming the juvenile justice system, cracking down on environmental crimes and putting the bad guys in jail. I hope to earn your support for my election.
Thank you,
