The Beverly Hills Police Officers Association today officially announced their endorsement of Danette Meyers for District Attorney and issued the following statement:"The Beverly Hills Police Officers Association today is proud to announce our endorsement of Danette Meyers for Los Angeles County District Attorney. Danette Meyers is a professional prosecutor who has relentlessly pursued justice for over 25 years as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. Her unprecedented trial experience fighting violent crime and her commitment to crime prevention especially among our youth has earned her the respect and support of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association. We need a professional and experienced crime fighter to lead the largest local prosecutorial agency in the world. That is why it is with great pride that we enthusiastically endorse and support Danette Meyers as the next District Attorney of Los Angeles County."
Danette Meyers stated: “My first assignment as a Deputy District Attorney over 25 years ago was at the Beverly Hills Area Office. There I had the privilege of working with the dedicated men and women of the Beverly Hills Police Department. I continued this professional relationship during my seven year assignment in the Career Criminal Division of the District Attorney’s office where I prosecuted the series of Rolex follow-home robberies that terrorized citizens of the Westside. Today I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association.”
The endorsement by the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association is the first law enforcement endorsement of any candidate in the 2012 District Attorney election.
