MEYERS WINS OVER 60% OF THE CLUB'S SUPPORT IN BID TO SUCCEED STEVE COOLEY AS LOS ANGELES COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — Building momentum in her campaign for District Attorney, veteran prosecutor Danette Meyers handily won the endorsement of the West Hollywood Democratic Club / Beverly Hills Democratic Club after receiving the unanimous recommendation of the organization's Political Action Committee.
“The membership of our club spoke loudly and clearly, and we are proud to put our support behind Danette,” said Lillian Raffel, President of the West Hollywood Democratic Club / Beverly Hills Democratic Club. “She is exactly what the office of District Attorney needs: a true Democrat who understands the values of equality, justice and fair access to the law.”
“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the West Hollywood / Beverly Hills Democratic Club” said Meyers. “This organization has been a leader in the community for over 25 years and I am proud that they are in my corner as we move forward in our race for Los Angeles County District Attorney.”
Just last week, Meyers received over 57% of the general membership vote at a joint meeting of the Stonewall & Stonewall Young Dems Club meeting, outperforming her nearest opponent by nearly 15 points.
In addition to the endorsements listed above, Meyers has earned the support of former LA County District Attorney Gil Garcetti, the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association, Mayor Jim Dear of Carson, Mayor Eric Perrodin of Compton, former Mayor Alan Corlin and current Councilmembers Andrew Weissman and Jeffrey Cooper of Culver City and legendary entertainer Quincy Jones.
